How to Use Reports

Go beyond the Dashboard with exportable, filterable analytics for payroll, billing, compliance, and team coaching.

What Reports Are For

  1. Overview

Reports turn tracked time and desktop activity into answers managers and finance need — without rebuilding spreadsheets. Use them after timesheets are reviewed, and pair them with Remote Track when you need entry-level screenshots, apps, or URLs for a specific day.

    • Same data, deeper views

Dashboard widgets summarize the running week. Reports let you pick custom date ranges, members, projects, and teams, then export or share results.

    • Who can access

Members see personal reports where allowed. Admins and managers with permission see organization, team, or project rollups.

    • Plan differences

Core graph and tabular reports are on all plans. Team rankings, advanced activity analytics, and some performer views require Standard or Elite — see Pricing.

Open Reports

  1. Step 1: Open from the sidebar

Sign in at app.staffic.io, then click Reports under Analyze. The hub lists every report type your plan includes.

    • Time & Activity

Hours plus activity scores — spot gaps between time on the clock and engagement.

    • Manual Time

Entries added or edited by hand — essential for audits and policy reviews.

    • Apps & URLs usage

Aggregated application and website usage across members and periods.

    • Performance

Team output, rankings, and performance matrix for reviews (use responsibly with policy).

  2. Step 2: Hub reports (time-focused)

From the Reports hub you can also open time-centric views that complement Timesheets:

    • Time Calendar

Calendar layout of logged hours per member — good for spotting missing days at a glance.

    • Weekly Worklog

Week-by-week worklog export style view aligned to your organization week.

    • Time Analytics

Trends and breakdowns of hours over time by member, project, or team.

    • Monthly Timesheet

Month-end rollup for billing and payroll — pair with Timesheets → Monthly for edits before export.

    • Project Timing

How hours distribute across projects and tasks for capacity and budget checks.

    • App Usage & App Analytics

Rollups of desktop app time — same family of data as Remote Track → Apps, with charts and exports.

    • Performer Analysis & Leaderboard

Rankings by time logged and activity (plan-dependent). Use for recognition, not as the sole measure of performance.

  3. Step 3: Filter and export

On any report, set date range, Member, Project, and Team filters (where your role allows). Confirm timezone matches your billing or payroll period, then export to PDF or spreadsheet when the report supports it.

Approve timesheets for the same period before using Reports for payroll or client invoices — Reports summarize logged data; Approval marks it as signed off.

Common Workflows

  1. Client billing (month-end)

Fix entries in Timesheets → Monthly, run Reports → Monthly Timesheet or Project Timing for the client’s projects, then create Invoices from approved hours.

  2. Payroll and compliance

After Timesheet Approval, export Weekly Worklog or Time & Activity. Use Manual Time to audit hand-entered blocks before paying.

  3. Coaching and tool reviews

Use Apps & URLs usage or App Analytics for license and distraction conversations. Use Performance alongside Work Notes and timesheets — never screenshots alone.

Tip: Dashboard for this week’s pulse; Reports for custom ranges, exports, and disputes. Remote Track for raw evidence on a single day.

Tips

  • Match report date range and timezone to the payroll or invoice period you are closing.
  • Start with Monthly Timesheet or Project Timing for client billing; use Manual Time before paying disputed weeks.
  • Team rankings and Performance reports work best with a written policy — share how scores are used with the team.
  • Reconcile report totals with Timesheets and Payroll before releasing payments.
